GEL develops studios, courses and projects that facilitate transdisciplinary collaborations that enact participatory forms of urban design activism. By combining approaches from anthropology, architecture and media studies, we practice hybrid research and design methodologies that address the complex environmental, political, infrastructural, and socio-cultural challenges facing global cities. Operating on transdisciplinary platforms of field work, design, and digital media, we create new physical and virtual tactics for immediate design interventions and activism.
